ABOUT ME

Miryam Lasunción

I am Miryam Lasunción, born in Barcelona and based in Madrid since 2015. From a very young age I felt a deep connection with art: dancing, singing, painting and doing theater were a natural part of my daily life, which led me to study art and train in multiple disciplines such as ballet, hip hop, modern dance, contemporary, tap, musical jazz, singing and theater.

In 2018, I discovered Lindy Hop, Vernacular Jazz, and other swing dance styles. Since then, these African American dances have become an essential part of my life, inspiring me both on stage and in the classroom.

Simultaneously, I trained in Osteopathy at the Philippus Thuban school and validated my training at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM), affiliated with the University of Plymouth (United Kingdom). Since 2020, I have practiced as an osteopath, progressively specializing in working with dancers, thus combining my two great passions: the art of movement and health.

I have worked as a therapist at international festivals such as the Herräng Dance Camp (Sweden) and I collaborate with artists at El Templo de los Artistas in Madrid. I am also a Pilates instructor (both equipment and mat) and for two years I was part of a rehabilitation center, supporting recovery processes in water, treatment rooms, and the Pilates studio.

Currently, I offer in-home therapy sessions, integrating all my skills to tailor each session to the unique needs of each individual. I also teach private and group Lindy Hop and Vernacular Jazz classes, and participate in performances and shows related to swing music and dance.

My work stems from a desire to care, accompany, and share, creating bridges between the body, artistic expression, and holistic well-being.
